Saturday June 8
5.30pm – Practice 3
9pm – Qualifying

Sunday June 9
7pm – F1 Canadian Grand Prix

Welcome to Montreal for the Canadian Grand Prix – round nine of the 2024 Formula 1 World Championship. There is a five hour time difference between London and Montreal, so lights out will be 7pm BST on Sunday, June 9th.

Thundery showers are predicted for today’s race, which starts at 7pm BST with George Russell of Mercedes F1 AMG on pole.

Sergio Perez has already been swallowed up by not just Leclerc but Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz too – come the start of July, will the drivers’ standings have a new leader?

Besides Mercedes, Aston Martin have been the biggest disappointments of the season. While Fernando Alonso has scored in every round, Lance Stroll’s showings have got progressively worse as the season has worn on. Lawrence Stroll may own the team, but even he’ll struggle to justify why Alonso has bagged three times as many points as his teammate.

There are no major rule changes, no rookies and no new tracks, and four more sprint races: the Austrian, US, Brazilian and Qatar Grands Prix. Read on as we explain how to watch F1 races online and on TV.

Lucky F1 fans in Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg can pick up a free live F1 stream of every single race. There are also free, extended highlights available in the UK and Australia.

ORF and Servus TV are each showing 12 races for free in 2024.

RTL Zwee has the rights to every 2024 Formula 1 race.

Free-to-air RTBF channels will serve up a free F1 live stream of each race (email registration required).

10Play will provide free highlights of every race this season, plus a free live stream of the Australian GP.

Channel 4 airs free highlights of every race, plus a free live stream of the British GP.

If you’re currently abroad or not in the same country as the TV streaming service you’re trying to use, you probably won’t be able to watch the Canadian Grand Prix because of geo-blocking, a technology that broadcasters use to restricts certain content to specific parts of the world. However, you can dodge geo-blocks by using a VPN, and ExpressVPN is one of the best.
