Los Angeles:

Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, pleaded guilty to charges in his tax evasion case on Thursday as jury selection was about to begin.

Lawyers said the 54-year-old was prepared to enter a guilty plea, acknowledging the likelihood of conviction but would maintain his innocence.

U.S. District Judge Mark Scarsi in Los Angeles asked for a recess to allow prosecutors to discuss the measure.
