WhatsApp is synonymous with new feature. According to the specialized newspaper WABetaInfo, it seems that the application intends to use access keys to add a New layer of authentication for backups which are end-to-end encrypted, this way you will ensure that only authorized users can access and restore your chat history.
As can be seen in the message shared by WABetaInfo on the social network X (formerly Twitter), WhatsApp is exploring an optional feature that allows users encrypt your backups using a passwordwhich is planned for release in a future update.
These access keys will be stored safely in a password manager, this way the application will ensure good accessibility and avoid the need to manually save a custom password.
On the other hand, WABetaInfo points out that “this change represents a significant advance for Encrypted backups are less memory dependentas users will be able to restore their end-to-end encrypted backups by quickly and easily verifying their identity with biometric data.”
The new WhatsApp colors that will arrive in the next few weeks
