Yogyakarta, LIVE – Starting from 1 October 2024, the government plans to introduce restrictions on the use of subsidised fuels. This limitation was pointed out by the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadalia.

President Jokowi spoke about the plan to limit subsidized fuel. Jokowi explained that currently the restrictions on subsidized fuel are still in the social phase.
“I think we are still in the social process. We will see how it goes on the ground,” Jokowi said at Dr. Sarjito Hospital, Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Jokowi revealed that the government has not yet decided whether to impose restrictions on subsidized fuel for the public.

“No decision has been made yet. There has been no meeting,” Jokowi added.
Jokowi said there are several reasons why the government plans to limit the use of subsidized fuel. One of them is related to budget efficiency considerations.
“First of all, it is mainly related to pollution in Jakarta. Secondly, we also want efficiency in our state budget, especially for 2025,” Jokowi concluded.
