Pramono Anung did not expect to be nominated, but stressed that he will work hard in the Jakarta gubernatorial election.

Jakarta, VIVA – PDIP has chosen Pramono Anung – Rano Karno as its candidate for the Jakarta gubernatorial election. This morning, Wednesday, August 28, 2024, the plan is to register with the General Regional Election Commission or KPUD Jakarta. This also puts an end to previous speculations about Anies Baswedan’s promotion.

Rana Karno is the former governor of Banten and also a member of the People’s Democratic Party of Ukraine. Meanwhile, Pramono is a senior politician of the PDIP, former general secretary of the party. Pramono was also the vice president of the DPR RI in 2009-2014. Currently Pramono is the cabinet secretary of the government of President Joko Widodo.

As for being elected by PDIP General Chairwoman Megawati Soekarnoputri, Pramono admitted that he was surprised. He said that during all this time he had never asked to be removed, so he had this hope. However, the politician from Kedir, East Java, stressed that if this is the decision, he will work hard.

“I did not expect, I did not ask for and I never expected, but when this decision is made, I will seriously try and work hard to fulfill the mandate,” Pramono Anun wrote on his social media account, as quoted by VIVA, Wednesday, August 28, 2024.

Rano Karno to become deputy governor

Previously, Rana Karno also uploaded a photo with Pramono. In his upload, Rana took a photo of him making a sign like the letter J with his right hand. The actress of the series, Si Doel, also claimed that the prayers of Babeh Sabeni or Benjamin S. are likely to be fulfilled.

Rana wrote on her Instagram page on the evening of Tuesday, August 27, 2024: “Eng eng eng eng…. It happened like Doa Babeh Sabeni (Benyamin S), here!”

DPP treasurer general Olli Dondokambey said the party will bring Pramono-Rano to the Jakarta Pilkada. The duo was not announced like other gubernatorial candidates who were recited publicly and followed by Megawati’s speech.

“Pak Pram will celebrate with Rana Karno tomorrow (today) at 11 o’clock at KPU,” Olli said.

Olli explained that Pramono Anung and Rano Karno immediately registered with KPUD Jakarta without prior notice, as has been PDIP’s practice until now.

“No way, directly at the registry. Just apply at the registry, KPUD DKI, 11.00 WIB,” he said.

Olli, however, did not want to elaborate on his party’s considerations in nominating the Pramono Anung-Rano Karno couple for the Banten gubernatorial election. He just conveyed the information he received from Pramono Anun that tomorrow at 11:00 WIB he will register at KPUD Jakarta.

“Oh, that’s not the treasurer, that’s not the auditor. I asked, that’s why I said it,” Ollie concluded.

It was previously reported that PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Treasurer General Ollie Dondokambey said that Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung is willing to participate in the 2024 Jakarta presidential election contest.

“Yesterday, Mr. Pramono received a call from his mother and asked him to run for DKI governor, that’s all. Mr. Pramono was coordinated with some people, it turned out that he was ready, that’s all. Yes, he called his wife and apparently at the request of mom, yes, he is ready,” Ollie told reporters on Tuesday, August 27, 2024.
