Jakarta, VIVA – A man with the initials JJS alias A, who is only 18 years old, is now facing five years in prison after being arrested as a suspect in a case of throwing acid at a married couple in West Jakarta.

West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Deputy Chief AKBP Teuku Arsya Hadafi confirmed the arrest of the suspect.
“We arrested Brother JS A, pseudonym. According to paragraph 2 of Article 351 of the Criminal Code (CPC), the penalty threat for this crime is five years in prison,” Arsya said during the disclosure of the case at the West Jakarta Metropolitan Police Station, Thursday, September 5, 2024.

During the arrest, the police managed to seize some important evidence, including a red baton, a motorcycle with the number В-6233-VVX, two mobile phones, as well as a helmet and video footage from the scene of the incident.
“The evidence we obtained included an orange box, a motorcycle, two cell phones, a hat with the words ‘Marinea’ written on it and surveillance video footage from the crime scene,” Stanley said.
The motive of the offender’s act became known when the investigation was carried out there. According to the police, JJS was feeling upset and angry because the victim frequently reprimanded him at work.
“The perpetrator’s behavior is deeply traumatizing. The perpetrator feels pressure at work and is often the target of ridicule by the victim, especially for errors in information or sales. Feelings of hurt and hurtful judgments by the victim prompt the perpetrator to retaliate,” she said.
